Interview with Chine

Tell us about your latest release: the main concept; what fans should expect; what were/are your goals with it:

We’re striving towards delivering brutal music with substans and a character of it’s own, and with our own liking in mind before anyone else’s. Like Vultures is as close as we’ve come thus far.

Did you have a specific sound in mind when you formed the band, or did that grow and evolve as you played together?

The plan was to produce a kind of dark and groovy/brutal metal with alot of eerie melodies and harmonies. We’ve approached this ideal from different angles over the years.

How does your writing process normally work out?

It usually starts with me recording ideas into my phone, they tend to pop up when I least expect it. I never sit down and try to write stuff. Then I bring a bunch of riffs put together into a basic song to the table, and we try it out in our rehearsal studio and usually re-arrange and tweak the parts into something that feels right. The pre productions are very important to us, we sometimes end up having more than ten different versions of the same song before we feel satisfied. That does not however mean that the song has to be complicated or contain tons of technical stuff.

What’s next for you?

We are going to release a couple of videos and promote the album as much as we can! The first video is for the track ‘Nothing but Black’ and is an animated video about a drunken driver who accidentally hits and kills a cyclist.
