Interview with Enime
Tell us about your latest release: the main concept; what fans should expect; what were/are your goals with it:
Bleeding Out is basically the continuation of Demon Inside.
Not in the sense that’s its leftovers but the idea is what happens next.
Demon Inside was about the problems of the world eating away at your soul and leaving you empty.
Bleeding Out is dealing with that emotional emptiness that is left behind.
It’s definitely a more personal album than Demon Inside. A lot of Grey’s life is in the lyrics.
Musically it’s a more streamlined version of ENIME. The songs were performed in a rehearsal studio for months before the recording. We didn’t have the luxury of doing that on the first release.
We are very confident with the quality of this release. It’s well written and well performed.
Give it a chance I’m sure you’ll agree.
We were hoping to sign with a label for this album but none of the offers on the table were what we were looking for. Ideally we were hoping for tour support so we could really get our name out there. None of the offers had that at a reasonable “cost”. So we are flying solo again.
We are going to push the album as far as we can on our own.
Already working on tracks for album #3.

Did you have a specific sound in mind when you formed the band, or did that grow and evolve as you played together?
At the very beginning, we knew what kind of sound we wanted but when we finished writing the last few songs of our first album … This is where we really found our style and our sound. In addition, having played a lot together also helped for the writing process of the second album.
How does your writing process normally work out?
Our writing process so far has been very simple for both albums.
Stef writes and composes all the music, records instrumental demos and sends them to Grey. Grey on his side, composes the lyrics and records the vocals.
After all this … We have a rough demo in hand that other members of the group can hear and of course, they can start learning and jamming the new songs. When the guys are ready, we practice them and make some corrections together.
For Bleeding Out, we had a good selection of songs available so we chose the ones we wanted the most on this album.
What are your ambitions and how far do you want to push your band?
Our ambitions are very simple … We want to push ENIME to the highest peaks.
We are serious, we think we write good albums and we love to play live. We are ready to conquer the world.
What are your influences/musical references and the impact those same influences had in your sound?
Our influences are so vast that it is too long to list them all but as a writer … The impact that these influences have on our sound is very simple.
Everyone in ENIME likes songs that are written like real songs.
Let me explain, we all like that guitars sound like old thrash crunchy tight sound, heavy bass and drums and a singer that can sing.
We like to write songs that are well built with good verses and choruses that are catchy without falling into what would be too commercial.
What’s next for you?
We hope our fans will love our next album.
We want more people to discover us.
We will produce two videos in the coming weeks to support our second release.
And we want to tour all over the world.
