Interview with LUTHARO

Tell us about your latest release: the main concept; what fans should expect; what were/are your goals with it:

During the creation of this EP there was no clear cut concept we had in mind we just kind of wrote what felt good to us. However the songs “Temple of the Damned”, “Unleash the Beast” and “Dead Ringer” all in that order tell a story of someone feeling trapped and soon breaking free by choosing not to care anymore but then are forced to suffer the consequences. As far as what our fans should expect is a unique and powerful sound created by mixing different genres we all enjoy. To put it bluntly there is clean/ growling vocals, groovy bits and a lot of soloing… a lot.  Our main goal with this was to put music out there that people will love and connect to but still staying true to what we love.

Did you have a specific sound in mind when you formed the band, or did that grow and evolve as you played together?

The band when originally formed was named “Incarnadine” and was mainly focused around writing about fantasy topics. As we evolved our music as “Lutharo”, Krista began writing lyrics based on more relatable topics such as everyday struggles because it was what made her feel more passionate and connected. The instrumental has also become far more complex and unique to its writers Victor and John as they’ve built such chemistry and exclusive style together.

How does your writing process normally work out?

The writing process usually consists of Victor coming up with a skeleton of a song then everyone else adds their own part to it.

What are your ambitions and how far do you want to push your band?

This band and music in general is our number one passion in life and we would love to see it make it to the point where we are able to do it full time.

What are your influences/musical references and the impact those same influences had in your sound?

Arch Enemy, Metallica and Black Sabbath are some of our major influences. They are all bands who have brought something new to the table, which is something we are hoping to do as well.

What’s next for you?

We are currently in the process of writing a new album and we are in the process of touring very soon.
