Interview with CLIMATE FEAR

Tell us about your latest release: the main concept; what fans should expect; what were/are your goals with it:

The onset of eternal darkness is the name of our debut album. With the concept that there are a multitude of different things going on in our world that have happened or are happening that combined have given us a very negative and bleak looking world and if we continue down this road then ultimately we will destroy ourselves.
Our next goal is to announce some more tours and shows and hopefully get to play as many places as we can.

Did you have a specific sound in mind when you formed the band, or did that grow and evolve as you played together?

No we all have our own influences which I feel you will hear more on this album compared to the EP. I don’t see the point in focusing too much on a particular before we write, we all wanted to play metal and the rest just naturally came together.

How does your writing process normally work out?

Really good we all put in our ideas and everyone contributes to each song, some songs may have more one person’s ideas than others but as a process we write as a band sending each other ideas and it naturally grows from there.

What are your ambitions and how far do you want to push your band?

As far as possible we want to play everywhere possible for as long as possible.

What are your influences/musical references and the impact those same influences had in your sound?

We all love metal first and foremost so you will hear a blend of different metal in the record from thrash, black and death but we all have a variety of different influences for example I enjoy listening to artists like Immortal technique and Vinny Paz next to the likes of Bathory and Behemoth. We all still play in hardcore band’s as well so you’ll hear an influence there if you’re familiar with band’s like irate, bun dem out and all out war

What’s next for you?

We have a new video from the record dropping and from there we will be touring in as many places as we can, keep your eyes peeled as we are hoping to announce a bunch of dates soon.
