Interview with NecrUterO

Tell us about your latest release: the main concept; what fans should expect; what were/are your goals with it:

Our new album “METALLO” is dedicated to lovin’ memory of our dear friend and brother Gianfranco “Metallo” Ganci who died on 15/01/2018. This is the reason because we chose this title for the album and realesed it on 15 January. Lyrics talk about evil and perversion that there is in the world and in sick heads of people. It’s our personal way to say FUCK OFF to humanity that is ruining the world. This is an album that can appeal to everyone who loves metal music in general because it does’nt have a well defined subgenre. It’s just fucking metal and from this album you can certainly expect a crescendo of desire to bang your head and to drink beer ! We really love pieces we wrote for this album and we are proud of them. We are also very satisfied with recording work done by Carlo Meroni in our studio. This is the reason because we decided to release the album in vinyl format. We hope that this album will reach ears of many more metalheads as possible !

Did you have a specific sound in mind when you formed the band, or did that grow and evolve as you played together?

We started as a bunch of friends of same age that wanted to play thrash/death metal. That was the basis. After years and variuos line-up changes , every one in the band has given some ideas coming from different personal music background . The sound has undoubtedly evolved and modernized, we are less raw than the beginning, but roots of our songs are still anchored to love for death and thrash metal.

How does your writing process normally work out?

We don’t have a standard composition method. Usually we give ourselves a theme and than we create new songs basing on that. Sometimes it can happen that someone of us comes to rehearsal room with a piece that is already complete, sometimes only with single riffs that after we develop all together. It may also happen that lyrics are already partially written before the music. If something seems to be cool we just do it and work on it.

What are your ambitions and how far do you want to push your band?

We don’t hide behind a finger. At this time, specially in Italy, to try to live with music is an utopia rather than a dream. We all have full-time jobs, and music for us is a great common passion. We do it for ourselves before than for others. Our ambition is to do good music that we like having fun togheter doing it . We hope that our passion and our work would be appreciated and shared around the world by people that love metal music as we love it, to keep this wonderful genre of music alive!

What are your influences/musical references and the impact those same influences had in your sound?

All of us have very different background. Someone come from classic heavy metal, someone from black metal, someone from melodic death and someone from death old scool. We like to put it all in a mix of extreme metal and to play what we like without thinking about a specifically genre.

What’s next for you?

We have some big changes in mind and we are working on new music.
