UDK – “Burnt Cradles”
Self-released
22 October 2018
CD | DIGITAL
After 12 years of intense and non-stop work since 1996 to 2008 including demos, albums, gigs all over the country including shows in Argentina and Uruguay, the band split-up. Seven years went by, when Alejandro and Rodrigo (both guitarists and original members), decided to give the project a new try, re-joining in a rehearsal room to dust-off the songs included in UDK´s previous two albums, “Hand that feeds”/2004 and “From sacred to profane”/2008.Chemistry was intact and it seemed as if the last rehearsal didn’t take place years ago, but the day before. The writing process did not took much time as many riffs surfaced quickly to their hands shaping 10 new songs that led the band into the studio.Between April and July of 2018, UDK finally recorded “Burnt cradles”, releasing it later that year. The main concept of “Burnt Cradles” is about the downward spiral human race is experimenting nowadays, adressed in 10 topics divided into 10 songs. It’s not about becoming twisted during life, it’s about born with evilness within, embedded in DNA. A possible solution is to metaphorically burn all cradles to avoid spreading this social cancer. You shall expect heavy songs, heavy music, blasting riffs and hard and direct lyrics, while the main goal is to contribute a little to raise awareness on what manking is doing. The band is now planning to shoot a video for the track “Vow my words”, while they schedule new touring dates.
