Brazil’s Human Act releases video for “The Devil You Can See”

Brazilian metallers Human Act have just released their brand new video for the single “The Devil You Can See”. The song is inspired by the famous novel “The Devil to Pay in the Backlands”, by Brazilian author Guimarães Rosa.
The novel tells the story about a backlands outlaw who makes a pact with the devil to get revenge, but through that he loses the love of his life. The band tried to put all the themes of the novel through metaphors in the actor’s scenes in the video.
“To make the video in the way we really wanted, with war, blood, and death, would require way more money which we didn’t have”, laughs vocalist Ricardo. “That’s why we tried to keep everything as simple as possible, but also having a meaning that related to the story of the book. Our original idea was to do an animated video, but that didn’t work out the way we wanted. Then, we got lucky to find someone who could write a very good script that could transmit in metaphorical ways what the story is all about”, he adds.

If you don’t know the story you will probably not understand what’s all about at first, but the lyrics of the song will definitely help, so don’t forget to check it out. The video is available on Human Act’s YouTube channel and the song is available in all streaming platforms.
