Interview: Goatburner

Tell us about your latest release: the main concept; what fans should expect; what were/are your goals with it:

Extreme Conditions is a concept album about the world in turmoil during the current climate crisis. Musically the album is quite chaotic and caustic, but still catchy, riff-based Deathmetal release.

Did you have a specific sound in mind when you formed the band, or did that grow and evolve as you played together?

It will probably evolve, but generally The debut captures quite well how we sound now.

How does your writing process normally work out?

Kaos: I’m doing riffs and then we throw them around with Spider at the rehearsal room. We might move into remote writing aswell, living in 2 different cities, but ultimately we want to see each other to finalize a song instrumentally. Vocals were mostly added after Instruments on this album, in studio, but we hope to change that in future to play more final songs togehter.

What are your ambitions and how far do you want to push your band?

We want to take this band on the road with all the suitable great bands out there. Writing more iconic releases is obviously our goal aswell.

What are your influences/musical references and the impact those same influences had in your sound?

Bolt Thrower, Eyehategod, Conan, Infest

What’s next for you?
