Tell us about your latest release: the main concept; what fans should expect; what were/are your goals with it:
Warning! Invasion! Mutated killer lice, space wolves and intergalactic giant spiders attack! Plus a space stripper song, that’s the general term of the Berlin Heavy Metal Band „Space Parasites“. The quartet consisting of two ladies (vocals, bass) and two gentlemen (guitar, drums) delivers rough, hard heavy metal in a original wall of sound on their debut release. The 14 songs deliver over 50 minutes raw power and and absolutely live up to the title of the work: „Raw and Violent“!
Did you have a specific sound in mind when you formed the band, or did that grow and evolve as you played together?
We like pure arrangements, no compromises, dirty and wild. Little
bells-and-whistles. We met and just wanted to play, at first it still sounded like the old days Punk rock, after a while of rehearsing it became more and more apparent that we play rather rough Thrash with heavy elements. Heavily inspired by Megadeth, Kreator, Slayer and Judas Priest. The vocals move between Exodus (Zetro) and Holy Moses. All time classics. The more practice we got, the more heavier it sounded. More confident.
How does your writing process normally work out?
Daschke is writing the songs in his music room at home. Occasionally, he suddenly has a riff in his mind, which he hum into his mobile, to record it later on. Usually he finishes the part directly. He gets a lot of inspiration from those B-Movies of the fifties and sixties. Mix the whole thing with every day situations, like your kids come home from school with lice and you come up with a song named „Mutant Killer Lice“ . Nadine does a good deal of the lyrics, as a huge Horror and Lovecraftian tales fan, there is a lot of weird stuff coming from her.
What are your ambitions and how far do you want to push your band?
As far as it is still fun for us to play, we play. We want to carry on! We want to progress ourselves and to always be there with dedication and all the heart.
What are your influences/musical references and the impact those same influences had in your sound?
Depends on what and who you grew up with. Your parents and friends influence is a great matter. Well classic Metal like Alice Cooper and W.A.S.P. Followed by Kreator, Megadeth, Sodom, Motörhead and Helloween. Wicked bands like Destruction, Tankard ect. pp. We don’t think you can limit it in a that way.
